Isaiah 41:18 says “I will open up rivers on the bare heights and springs in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land fountains of water.”
Living with an addiction to pornography or other sexual sin can really feel like you are wandering in the desert with no hope of ever finding your way out. But there is hope! God tells us our true identity lies in who we are in Jesus Christ and it’s in Jesus that we can find freedom from whatever is holding us captive. God can open up rivers on bare heights. He can bring life to us where there was once death and he can break the chains of whatever addiction we are a slave to.
The rest of Isaiah 41 says this: “That they may see and recognize, and consider and gain insight as well, that the hand of the Lord has done this…..” I hope this blog can point you back to to who you are in Christ no matter where you are in life or what struggles you are wrestling through. As I share my own personal stories of my addiction and struggles and how God has brought me through them and given me victory over them, I hope you will see that He can do the same thing in your life as well! When you are willing to turn to Him and let go of the control that you long to have, He will do great things in you as He did in me. God is still working in my life transforming me each day, and He will be until the day He calls me home.
I am looking forward to “meeting” you, traveling through our journey together, and being a mutual encouragement to one another as we see God open rivers in all of our lives.
